Aberdeen-based accountancy firm Hall Morrice has appointed Jack Borg-Delaney in a newly created role of an additional audit director.
Borg-Delaney brings “extensive” experience in the field of audit and compliance, having previously served in “key” senior audit roles at Deloitte and Ernst and Young.
He began his accountancy career at the age of 17 on a school leavers’ programme and then joined independent accountancy practices in Solihull before moving to Scotland in 2017.
With a track record of “ensuring compliance, implementing best practice, and fostering client relationships, Borg-Delaney will play a pivotal role in advancing our audit capabilities”.
Borg-Delaney said: “Joining Hall Morrice is an opportunity for me to return to an independent accountancy firm; one which is demonstrating impressive growth and has aspirations to grow further. I look forward to bringing a new viewpoint to supporting, and enabling, the development of the audit team.
“Hall Morrice has a strong track record of developing staff from within, allowing me to be involved in recruitment, development and coaching of the team; an area which I have experience in and enjoy as part of my role. Hall Morrice encourages the whole team to challenge the way we do things and to continually improve across all areas of operation.”
Bob Bain, managing partner at Hall Morrice, added: “Hall Morrice consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence in accountancy, and the appointment of Jack aligns with our strategic vision for the future. This move reinforces our position as a trusted, and importantly, independent partner for businesses in Aberdeen and beyond.
“Jack’s career progression from school leaver to director demonstrates that university is not the only route into the accountancy profession. At a time when our firm is growing and we continue to recruit at all levels, he is an excellent role model for different paths into the profession other than university. His wealth of experience and expertise with both independent and larger corporate firms will be instrumental in further elevating our audit services. As we continue to grow, Jack will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of quality and professionalism that our clients expect from us.”
