Accountancy and business advisory firm Haines Watts has confirmed a number of appointments and promotions, as it continues to invest in local people across Newcastle and Darlington.

The firm welcomed 15 new appointments in this financial year alone, eight of which are graduates and school leavers. The new starters join across a number of specialist service lines including audit, accounts, tax incentives and reliefs, corporation tax and VAT.

Speaking on her new role as Corporate Tax trainee, Sophie Glaister said: “I’ve only been here a short while but everyone has been very welcoming so far. I’d heard of Haines Watts through family members and knew it was a good place to work. The firm has a great culture and values which I really resonate with.”

The appointments come as the Newcastle office celebrates five internal mid-year promotions. Three new delegates joined the firm’s eighth annual Leadership Development Programme, while six team members are currently completing the Managers Skills Programme and two team members will graduate the programme this week.

Commenting on the people moves, promotions and development opportunities, group managing partner, Donna Bulmer said: “We have a lot to celebrate here in our North East offices. Not only are we seeing such talented young people choosing to start their careers here at Haines Watts, but we’re also seeing them progress, reach their goals and even achieve what they might not have thought possible.

“I’m so proud to see our team making strides in their career. Whether it’s their job, a well-deserved promotion, or taking part in our talent development programmes. It’s the people who make Haines Watts what it is and I’m proud to see them go from strength to strength.”
