Cottons has announced its acquisition of a specialist accounting firm for the pub, restaurant and beverages industry, Street and Street Accounts Ltd.

The acquisition is part of the firm’s strategic growth plan to expand its expertise and client base in the Midlands area.

As a result of the sale, the Cottons team has gained two new staff members.

Zach Rees played an essential role in bringing the clients on board, while Debi Pitcher and Wendy Cox have integrated well into the Cottons office life.

Street and Street Accounts has a reliable and trusted provider of comprehensive accounting services, working alongside clients to help them grow sustainable and profitable businesses.

Looking to the future, Cottons aims to leverage the acquisition to grow its expertise and client numbers within the industry.

According to the firm, by combining the strengths of both companies it is “well-positioned” to offer an expanded range of services and deliver exceptional value to its clients.

Mark Palmer, partner in Cottons’ Rugby office, said: “The transfer negotiations were very straightforward. Debi made it clear that she wanted to ensure her clients and colleagues were positively affected, and we believe we have jointly succeeded in this aim.”

Debbie Street, managing director of Street and Street accounts, added: “It was super important that we found a practice that had the same ethos around client relationships. The exclusive use of Xero accounting software, with all the efficiencies it provides, complements our setup and has enabled a seamless transfer.

“I know our clients will be in safe hands with Zach, Debi and Wendy’s experience will be invaluable. I wish Zach all the best in his new role at the helm of Street & Street and hope he grows the business over the coming years.”
