Prime Accountants Group has launched a leadership and management programme in a bid to help 12 members of staff develop their careers and learn new skills.

The firm, which has offices in Birmingham, Solihull and Coventry, is implementing the course to “enhance” the skills of Prime’s team members and “prepare them to take on bigger responsibilities in the future”.

CAPE Coaching and Development will lead the programme, covering a wide range of topics, including strategic planning, effective communication, decision-making, and team management.

Individuals from a cross-selection of assistant managers, managers and senior managers will be taking on this new professional challenge in the first year.

Morgan Davies, director at Prime and the one who is spearheading the programme, said: “This will be a 12-month programme and the plan is to have it running yearly, with a new cohort each year. The board will be supplying the training provider with current, real-life leadership and management scenarios we face here at Prime, so we can all learn and grow from real-life situations rather than off-the-shelf textbooks and literature.

“The course will consist of six full days of face-to-face workshops, which will be held in our new Birmingham office, an online platform for cohort collaboration, 1-2-1 coaching and personality profiling. We are committed to investing in our team members’ development and are extremely excited about what this new programme brings to the firm,”

Emma Abbotts, senior manager in the audit and accounts department, added: “This programme will be a big step forward in my career and will be pivotal in helping me to reach my goals and upskill within the workplace.

“The directors here at Prime have consistently shown an interest in helping me and my colleagues grow and develop in our roles. I’ve been at Prime for seven years and it’s this supportive culture that is one of the key drivers for my continued commitment to the company.”
