Investment management company Charles Stanley has announced the appointment of Tom Hawkins as the firm’s head of strategic partnerships. He will be based in London and report directly to the head of sales, Sean Osborne.

It is reported that Hawkins joins from Quilter where he was business development manager, responsible for working with key regional and national IFA firms across the country.

Prior to his time at Quilter, he also held a number of senior roles within distribution and marketing, most recently at Old Mutual Wealth and at Skandia before it was bought by Old Mutual.

In his new role, Hawkins will be responsible for the development and management of strong relationships with strategic partners including national advice firms, networks, service providers and platforms.

In addition, he will also promote the firm’s suite of investment solutions and model portfolios, which are said to leverage the wider firm’s expertise in asset management, research, and wealth management.

The solutions reportedly aim to deliver client outcomes such as inheritance planning, capital growth, as well as income and building tax-efficient portfolios.

Sean Osborne, head of sales at Charles Stanley, said: “Tom has over 20 years of experience that he can bring to the table, most recently in helping build relationships with UK national and regional advice firms.

“In his new role, he will continue this work to bring the benefit of Charles Stanley’s exceptional research capabilities and deep understanding of the end client to advice firms across the UK.”
