Mazars announces five UK partner promotions

The new internal partner additions come from across the firm’s audit, tax, advisory, and consulting teams

Mazars has announced the promotion of five staff members to partners across its UK operations, effective 1 September 2021.

The new internal partner additions come from across the firm’s audit, tax, advisory, and consulting teams.

Having joined Mazars in 2006, Gavin Barclay is based at the company’s London office and will continue to invest “significant time” in coaching and working with the audit team following the promotion to partner.

Based in Bristol, Jon Barnard has also been named as an audit partner, and will continue to be tasked with developing the group’s audit offering across the South West and Wales.

Pauline Pelissier provides the position with over 14 years of experience working within Mazars’ financial services audit team in London, and will now be responsible for unearthing new opportunities resulting from audit reform.

In the group’s advisory and consulting team, Michael Pallott will now focus on establishing and growing the business’ national contentious insolvency team.

Finally, Prasam Patel will continue to lead the Mazars UK real estate arm, while also growing a supporting tax team as a tax partner.

Phil Verity, senior partner at Mazars, said that the group is focused on “investing in talent” and giving its employees “the opportunity to develop and grow”.

He added: “In the past year we have launched our ambitious 4-year strategy, emerging from the pandemic with real positivity and momentum. At the heart of this is ensuring we are an inclusive, diverse organisation that’s representative of the society in which we work.

“That means recruiting and supporting talented people from a wide range of backgrounds, at whatever stage of their career they may be.”
