Deloitte has announced the appointment of Chris Holmes as a partner at the group’s financial advisory practice.

Holmes will be tasked with building a new real estate debt advisory offering at the Big Four firm, and will act in Deloitte’s 100-person UK debt and capital advisory (DCA) team.

The new service line will act alongside the group’s existing infrastructure and real estate assets teams, providing borrower side debt advisory and treasury services to corporates, infrastructure, private equity, and partly owned businesses.

Chris Skinner, partner and head of DCA at Deloitte, said: “Having someone of Chris Holmes’ standing and experience to head our new real estate debt advisory business is a great coup, particularly given the strength of crossover with Deloitte’s real estate division and other service lines.

“Chris’s appointment and the launch of our new real estate vertical underlines our ambition to grow and enhance our market leading position.”

Holmes provides the position with over 25 years of experience working in the European real estate debt and investment industries.

He joins the group from Capra Global Partners, and has previously served as EMEA head of debt advisory at JLL.

Holmes said: “As the sources of lender capital continue to evolve, the need for professional and timely advice on navigating debt markets has never been stronger.

“Offering clients this service through Deloitte’s leading DCA business is a strong statement of intent to expand in this field.”
