Azets promotes Ben Sheldon to Midland’s director

Effective 1 May 2021, Sheldon will continue to work within the company’s Birmingham audit department that was formed in 2019

Azets has announced the promotion of Ben Sheldon to director at the group’s Midlands operations.

Effective 1 May 2021, Sheldon will continue to work within the company’s Birmingham audit department that was formed in 2019.

Since joining Azets from a Big Four firm, Sheldon has built relationships with clients and helped establish Azets as an alternative audit provider to the industry’s larger competitors.

His appointment represents a further expansion to the region, following the appointments of Paul Tallon and James Martin as transaction services partner and partner respectively.

Laura Hinsley, partner at Azets Birmingham, said that Sheldon’s progression is a representation of his “hard work and determination to drive continuous positive change” throughout his service lines.

She added: “Azets are committed to developing and rewarding our people and it is a pleasure to have Ben alongside me, growing our audit offering in the market.

“Since joining less than two years ago, Ben has made a significant contribution to our audit service line both within Birmingham and nationally and his steep trajectory to director is a well-deserved milestone.”

Sheldon acts as a member of the National Audit Technical board, while also holding a place on the ICAEW technical and practical auditing committee.

He said: “I’m delighted to have contributed to the continuing growth of the Birmingham office and I am excited to hit the ground running in my new director position.

“I am extremely passionate about Midlands businesses and I look forward to providing them with personable, high-quality audit services, as well as developing a fantastic environment internally for our audit team to work in.”
