KPMG bolsters e-Discovery services with RelativityOne

KPMG has announced it is expanding its global e-discovery offering with the addition of Relativity’s cloud-based solution, RelativityOne. RelativityOne is designed to “help users better address the risks and costs involved with e-discovery in the context of litigation, regulatory enquiries and investigations, as well as the acquisition, management, and analysis of large data sets”. KPMG’s Forensic Technology practice will now offer RelativityOne through eight datacentres globally, supporting e-discovery engagements and investigations conducted by its team of 3,000 forensic colleagues. All KPMG clients using RelativityOne will also have access to its next generation interface, Aero UI. Through the deployment of the RelativityOne platform, KPMG said it is now able to provide clients “full control over their data, simplifying their IT and cloud transformation journeys, and reducing costs and reputational risks while increasing operational efficiency”. Magnus Becher, director of Forensic Technology at KPMG UK, said: “The latest analysis from KPMG’s Fraud Barometer predicted a tsunami of fraud cases expected in the latter half of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “This, combined with recent cyber breaches in the legal services industry, makes the case for more stringent, innovative and speedier data security measures.” He added: “The world’s largest corporate and law firms still often rely on legacy IT infrastructure in a fast-changing working world, leaving their clients’ data insufficiently protected.
