RMT expands to meet client demand with 11 new members

RMT Accountants and Business Advisors has announced it has "scaled up" to meet client demand by adding 11 new members to its growing team. The independent Gosforth-based firm has made the appointments across its various departments after increasing its work with existing clients and winning several new contracts with “well-known” regional businesses and organisations. Nick Dalton is now part of RMT’s audit team, while Sarah Hopper, Amy Wu and Ashley Hayes have all joined the firm's specialist healthcare division, which is one of the UK’s leading specialist medical and healthcare accountancy practices and has the largest dedicated team outside London. Roseann McGovern has joined the firm’s personal tax team, Brad Stewart and Sara Dent are working in accounts roles, and Alan Green has joined the firm’s technology support division, RMT Technology. In addition, Helen Simmons and Margaret Pringle are both working within RMT’s payroll services team, and Libby White has joined the administration team. Roseann McGovern, who is originally from Belfast and settled in the North East after graduating from Northumbria University ten years ago, said: “Having worked for one of the Big Four firms, I wanted to join an independent firm where I’d get the chance to deal directly with clients. “RMT fits the bill perfectly and I’m really enjoying taking on more responsibility and getting to know a diverse range of new contacts. It’s been a busy start to the year, but everyone’s been very welcoming and I already feel part of the team.” RMT provides the full range of financial and business advisory services through its accountancy, specialist tax, medical and healthcare, corporate finance and recovery and insolvency teams. Founded over 60 years ago, it works with UK companies of all sizes both within and outside the North East, as well as a range of international clients. Mike Pott, managing director at RMT, said: “We enjoyed strong growth in 2019 and have made a very encouraging start to the new year, with increasing numbers of clients looking for us to take on many of their core business functions, including accounting services, payroll and technology management. “Our 11 new recruits will ensure we can service this growing demand and continue to add to our client portfolio.” He added: “Their professional and personal qualities make all of them valuable additions to our team and we’re looking forward to helping them develop their career aspirations with us. “Recruiting highly capable and experienced staff for roles in which they can help our clients meet their commercial and personal goals whilst also developing their own careers is an essential part of our strategic growth plan.”
