EQ Chartered Accountants has announced that three of its principal managers have been promoted to the position of partner.
Rachel Bell, Scott Greig and Robert Young will take on their new roles from 1 April 2020.
According to EQ, since joining the firm as trainees Bell, Greig and Young have shown “dedication and commitment” to their ongoing development, both professionally and personally, and have continued to provide a “significant contribution” to the firm and to their clients.
Bell, from the firm’s Dundee office, joined as a trainee in 2008. Following her success in the ICAS exams, she specialised in taxation, qualifying as a chartered tax advisor (CTA) in 2014.
She also has “extensive technical expertise” in corporate taxation, is a key member of the firm’s research and development tax team and heads up the transaction tax group, dealing with business restructures, purchases and sales.
Greig is based at EQ’s Cupar office, and commenced his CA traineeship with EQ in 2009, qualifying in 2012.
Having moved from the Forfar office in 2015 to strengthen its agricultural expertise and build relationships with both intermediaries and clients, he is said to have been “instrumental” in the success of the Cupar office and is key to its continued development, both in terms of his agricultural and commercial sector knowledge.
Young joined the Forfar office as part of EQ’s school leaver programme in 2003, working his way through the grades and successfully passing his ACCA exams along the way, becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2013.
All three were promoted from senior managers to principal managers in April 2019.
David Cameron, managing partner, said: “On behalf of EQ, I would like to congratulate Rachel, Scott and Robert on their well-deserved promotions.
“As excellent examples of ‘home-grown’ talent, all three have completed their training journey with us and have demonstrated a consistently high standard of dedication and commitment to their careers, and their clients.”
He added: “We continue to make a substantial investment in the training and development of our staff, supporting them to achieve their potential as both accountants and business advisors, ensuring that the advice and support they provide to their clients is of the highest standard.”
“Rachel, Scott and Robert are not only first-class accountants but some of our best young ambassadors. I am proud to see them achieve their goals and pave the way for the next generation of trainees, proving that there are no limits to what can be achieved through hard work and commitment.”
