Accounting specialists Sargent-Disc has been acquired by US-based firm Cast and Crew.
The acquisition is the fifth deal for Cast and Crew since 2015. Founded in 1976, the firm itself was bought out by equity firm EQT last year.
It said the deal will give Cast and Crew a “strong” foothold in the UK and payroll market around the world, as Sargent-Disc gained £1bn payroll payments in 2017.
Eric Belcher, chief executive officer of Cast and Crew, said: “The addition of Sargent-Disc to the Cast and Crew family marks an important milestone in our company’s history as we enter the UK and various international markets.”
Sargent-Disc will continue to function under its own brand with its current staff, in Beaconsfield, UK.
Dr Lara Sargent, who runs Sargent-Disc with brother Laurence, said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with Cast and Crew. Their payroll, digital products and residuals have been at the forefront of industry innovation and we are looking forward to driving the international expansion of Cast and Crew.”
“Our ethos and strategies are well aligned, and this deal provides us with an opportunity to better support the needs of our clients through the complexities of international production.
The terms of the transition were not disclosed. Cast and Crew were represented by law firm Latham and Watkins and Sargent-Disc was represented by Harbottle and Lewis.
