R&D tax firm, ForrestBrown, has revealed that it is extending the range of services it offers under its FB Consulting business.
The extension in services comes as demand for HMRC enquiry support has increased in recent months, with FB working with companies “facing scrutiny” of claims they prepared themselves or with other advisers or partners.
As a result, FB devises and delivers strategies that balance preserving claim value, reducing risk of penalties and securing speedy solutions, while protecting the client’s reputation.
The firm reportedly already offers end-to-end claim preparation for clients accessing the SME and RDEC tax incentives.
FB Consulting is led by ForrestBrown director James Dudbridge, whose team draws on the expertise of chartered tax advisers, accountants, lawyers and sector specialists with industry experience in R&D-intensive fields such as software, engineering and manufacturing.
In addition, FB’s services include due diligence to ensure R&D tax risks have been considered as part of mergers and acquisitions, highlighting any post-sale implications and advising on a strategy for future claims.
The team also carry out full claim reviews and training for in-house teams seeking fresh perspectives on project identification, claim methodology and risk management.
Dudbridge said: “FB Consulting recognises that no two businesses are the same. Every client has different challenges and opportunities, which is why we put together a specialist team for each client to ensure we provide practical and actionable outcomes tailored to their needs.
“Innovation has an important role to play, particularly in challenging economic conditions. The services FB Consulting offers can help companies navigate the innovation tax landscape, ensuring they are best positioned to deliver advances in products, processes and services which will benefit the wider economy and society.”
