EY UK has appointed Rohit Garg as a partner to lead the firm’s expanding Financial Services Cloud team as the practice responds to “rising” market demand for digital and emerging new tech support.

In his new role, Garg will lead EY’s UK Financial Services Technology Consulting practice with plans to double the size of the business over the next two years.

Overall, Garg has over 20 years’ technology consulting experience, with the last 16 years spent at Cognizant Technology Solutions.

His most recent roles were as global head of Technology and Architecture for Cognizant’s Google cloud business, and formerly as head of Digital Engineering, where he helped clients drive business growth by leveraging digital capabilities and cloud computing.

Paul Sparkes, UK Financial Services Consulting leader at EY, said: “I am delighted to welcome Rohit to our technology consulting business, which is expanding as firms increasingly look to digital for innovation and growth.

“Rohit has a wealth of experience and expertise which will be crucial to our clients as they navigate their cloud journeys and introduce new, dynamic technology-first solutions into their operating systems.”

Garg added: “The potential of the cloud for financial services firms looking to digitally transform their businesses is enormous and I am thrilled to be joining EY as they ramp up their client offerings in this area.

“As cloud technology continues to revolutionise the ways banks, insurers and asset managers operate and serve customers, I look forward to helping them innovate and ensure new solutions are sustainable and resilient. EY is demonstrating significant investment in this area, and I am excited to be a part of their growth strategy.”
