Accountancy and business advisory firm, BDO, has announced the appointment of three new partners this month, all of whom will be based in London, as the firm continues its investment in people.

Tim Golby joins BDO’s private client team as a tax partner specialising in tax relating to partnerships, and he joins from the law firm Bird and Bird.

Golby has spent over 20 years advising on complex tax issues, often across multiple jurisdictions, whilst building up an understanding of the legal sector both globally and in the UK.

Additionally, Matthew Clark also joins as a tax partner from PwC, with over 20 years of experience, including senior leadership positions leading on tax matters relating to UK customs, excise and international trade.

In his new role, Clark will continue to utilise this expertise as demand for advice in this area is reportedly increasing due to factors including Brexit and the introduction of a new HMRC Customs Declaration system.

He will also advise on the impact of customs, excise and international trade on transfer pricing, international tax restructuring, supply chain transformation and the introduction of new technology and systems.

Meanwhile, Emma Jarvis is joining the firm as an audit partner, and she also joins from PwC. With more than 20 years’ of experience in the profession, Jarvis will focus on businesses headquartered in the US in her new role.

She has a range of experience of working with clients in a number of sectors, including owner-managed and private-equity backed businesses as well as larger listed companies.

Paul Eagland, managing partner at BDO, said: “It is brilliant to be able to continue our investment in our partner group, particularly as our clients navigate a challenging economic climate and require increasingly complex advice.

“It is crucial that we have the best and brightest talent within the firm and these appointments are a reflection of that. All three new partners bring fresh expertise and experience to BDO and will be brilliant additions to the team.”

Since the start of this year, BDO has appointed 11 external individuals as partners across the firm.
