Tesco Bank has announced the promotion of Richard Henderson to chief financial officer (CFO) at the group.

Effective from 30 June 2021, and subject to regulatory approval, Henderson will succeed Declan Hourican, who will leave the company on 29 June 2021.

A chartered accountant, Henderson joined Tesco Bank in June 2009 as audit director, and has since held the roles of finance director and financial and credit risk director.

Henderson was added to the group’s board and executive committee in 2017 as he was appointed chief risk officer (CRO) at the bank.

Gerry Mallon, chief executive at Tesco Bank, said: “Richard is a highly valued member of our executive team, and I know he will bring enthusiasm and effective leadership to his new role.

“I look forward to working with him to help Tesco shoppers manage their money a little better every day.”

Prior to joining Tesco Bank, Henderson held a number of senior roles at RBS, Barclays, and PwC.
