PwC has announced that it is the latest sponsor of the Birmingham 2022 CommonWealth Games.

The accountancy firm said it will be providing professional advisory services in the run up to the games.

As part of the new relationship, PwC will continue to work with local charities and non-profit organisations to “maximise the social and environmental impact” of the games and its footprint.

Kevin Ellis, chairman and senior partner, PwC UK, said: “We are proud to be supporting the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and excited to be working together with the Organising Committee to deliver the games, and to help build inclusive growth through improved skills, jobs, diversity and social mobility.

“The games provide a golden opportunity for our people to continue to volunteer their time and skills to support its legacy, and the many local charities and non-profit organisations that will benefit from its social and environmental impact. This also helps to support the development and wellbeing of our own people, which is at the heart of everything we do.”

John Crabtree, chairman of Birmingham 2022, added: “Welcoming PwC on board marks a great milestone.

“We’re excited to be working together and will be developing plans that will contribute to our mission to be a catalyst for change.”
