Batten will retain his role as global relationship partner for one of PwC’s Global Banking clients and has over 25 years of experience gained exclusively in Financial Services with the firm.

The firm said he has “extensive delivery experience” across major change projects in Banking and Capital Markets including risk and regulatory strategy, risk transformation, finance transformation and efficiency and cost effectiveness.

In the earlier phases of his career as an auditor, he worked with a number of top tier banks including taking on the role of audit partner on key engagements.

He has also worked in Australia with PwC, is a qualified chartered accountant and member of the ICAEW, and has been a partner with PwC for 15 years.

Batten said: “I’m very excited to be able to take on this role. The next 12 months will continue to be a challenging time for the sector, however there are also significant opportunities. I’m looking forward to helping our clients navigate the current environment and adapt to those future challenges and take advantage of opportunities.”

Isabelle Jenkins, leader of industry for Financial Services at PwC UK, added: “With Mark’s wealth of experience and expertise in the sector and his dedication to the firm over the last 25 years, I’m delighted that he has agreed to lead the UK team and look forward to seeing the positive impact he has on helping our clients to be successful.”
