KPMG has announced the appointment of Ian Beaumont as office senior partner of its Newcastle branch, with the role coming into effect from 1 February 2021. 

Beaumont, who joined the firm in 2014. has more than 20 years partner experience, supporting regional, plc and global businesses. Previously he has led the firm’s private enterprise and family business teams across the North.

In his latest role he will lead the business advisory firm’s activity in the North East, replacing

David Elliott – who is retiring at the end of April after four years in the role and 13 with the firm.

Beaumont said: “I’m privileged to be joining a talented team here at KPMG in the North East who are passionately supporting this region’s organisations when they most need it, during this intensely challenging time. 

“We’re not required to look too far ahead, though, to also be excited about the opportunities presented by changing circumstances.”

He added: “With the vaccination programme underway, the Brexit deal done, the government’s levelling-up agenda on the table and investment going into the low carbon sector, in which the North East has valuable credentials and assets, there’s huge potential for this region to continue to thrive on the global stage.”
