KPMG announced it has appointed Philippa Sanderson to its private enterprise tax team in Edinburgh.
Having previously led the firm’s Sheffield team, she will now assume the role of associate partner at KPMG’s private enterprise offering.
Sanderson first joined the ‘Big Four’ firm in 2011. Prior to this, she worked at PwC for 13 years.
Sanderson said: “KPMG Private Enterprise is really about us tapping into the knowledge and experience we have across the firm and tailoring it specifically for privately owned businesses, who have their own challenges and growth opportunities.
“Scotland’s private business community is arguably the backbone of the economy with some of the best-known brands and biggest employers falling into the category.”
She added: “I’m incredibly excited about being in Scotland and playing such a key role with a firm that’s developed a first-class reputation in the country.
“The level of knowledge at KPMG in Scotland is second-to-none and I’m looking forward to bringing my own experience to the tax practice to assist clients with their growth strategies.”
Alan Turner, head of tax in KPMG Scotland, said: “KPMG Private Enterprise is all about building relationships and sharing expertise.
“Our team of experts are on-hand to create a single point of contact for clients, enabling them to access a wealth of support and information – everything from scaling-up support and family business succession planning to transaction services and preparing for exit.”
He added: “Tax touches on every aspect of Private Enterprise and Philippa’s experience in the field will be crucial in taking our offering to the next level in Scotland.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome her to our team and we’re confident she’ll play a key role in providing invaluable assistance to our diverse client base.”
