Accountancy firm BDO has announced the appointment of two new partners this month.

Vanessa Lee will join the private client team in Leeds as a tax partner. She will also support tax teams across the Yorkshire and North West on all private client tax issues.

She brings with her over 22 years of experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices and trustees on complex tax planning.

Oliver Back will join the London team, and be in charge of new contract and commercial risk practice for the branch.

These appointments mark further growth for the firm, as BDO has appointed eight new partners in the past six months.

In October, it reported a “landmark” year with both revenues and profits up by a quarter to £578m and £134m respectively.

Managing partner at BDO, Paul Eagland, said: “It has been a landmark year for BDO and that is in part down to our investment in technology and people.

“Our Northern tax team will be further strengthened by Vanessa’s appointment and her deep understanding of the needs and challenges of high net worths will create even more added value to both our existing and future private clients.”

He added: “Our new contract and commercial risk offering is a real opportunity for us to further increase our advisory expertise and I am thrilled that Oliver is joining BDO to lead the team.”

BDO currently operates in 17 locations across the UK, and employs nearly 5,000 people. The firm offers tax, audit and assurance, as well as a range of advisory services.
