Nottingham-based bookkeeper Bobbie Logan has launched a new specialist firm, Wanderfully Balanced Ltd, focusing on monthly reporting and jargon-free financial support.
Logan, who qualified as a bookkeeper in 2016, founded the business following personal experience with the physical and mental health impacts of financial distress.
The firm operates on a proactive model, working one month in arrears to provide business owners with regular oversight of their tax obligations and cash flow.
The approach is intended to eliminate surprise year-end tax bills and reduce the anxiety associated with financial mismanagement.
Logan’s decision to launch the business was informed by her own history of unemployment and the impact of financial pressure on her family.
She noted that the stress of managing finances can have significant health implications, citing her observation of the link between financial anxiety and physical well-being.
Wanderfully Balanced aims to assist clients who may feel overwhelmed by complex accountancy terminology.
The firm provides structured reporting alongside guidance designed to explain financial data in plain English.
Logan said: “We don’t wait until year-end to tell people there is a problem, we work proactively, one month in arrears, so business owners always know where they stand. That means no surprise tax bills, no last-minute panic and no guessing.
“In my experience, many accounting firms hand over reports and assume clients understand them. We will walk clients through their numbers in plain English, helping them to understand what is happening, why it matters and what to do next. No jargon. No judgement. No making people feel small.”
She added: “I was unemployed, battling suicidal thoughts and navigating the trauma of taking my childhood abuser to court. Seeing the physical impact of money anxiety changed me forever. It showed me that financial pressure isn’t just about spreadsheets – it affects health, relationships and entire families.”
