BK Plus has announced its expansion into Wales through the acquisition of Harris Bassett, marking five years since the group was established.
Harris Bassett operates from offices in Swansea, Pembroke and Llanelli. The firm provides audit, tax and business advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises and owner-managed businesses across South and West Wales.
The move takes the total number of BK Plus offices to more than 40 across the UK. The group was founded in 2021 with a strategy focused on providing professional services through local community hubs.
The Harris Bassett team will continue to operate under its existing structure. Existing staff will remain the primary points of contact for the firm’s client base while gaining access to the wider group’s specialist support.
According to the firm, this expansion is intended to be the start of a broader investment programme in Wales. The group aims to increase its presence through further recruitment and additional office locations.
Nick Bassett, managing partner at Harris Bassett, said: “What mattered to us was protecting what our clients value most – local knowledge, continuity and relationships. Joining bk plus gives us the backing of a wider group while allowing us to continue delivering advice in the way our clients expect. The focus on local teams and local decision-making made this a very natural fit.”
Shaun Knight, chief executive of BK Plus, added: “Harris Bassett has a strong reputation locally and a team that truly understands the businesses they work with. This is the first step in a wider programme of investment in people, offices and specialist support across Wales as we continue to build our presence. Our model is simple: local people delivering local services to local businesses, supported by national expertise when it matters.”
