Dains Accountants has officially launched a new business recovery service offering in the Midlands, with Lee Brocklehurst having been selected to lead as director.
Brocklehurst joins the firm with more than 25 years of experience in business recovery, restructuring and insolvency, and has previously worked at Quantuma as an appointment-taking insolvency practitioner.
In his new role, Brocklehurst will lead the development of the Midlands service from its Birmingham office and assist in establishing a national business recovery team for the group.
News of the new service offering will allow Dains to support businesses across a wider geographic footprint. It will also continue to provide services in Scotland while building a dedicated team in England to handle corporate and individual assignments.
The firm expects the national service to increase collaboration with banks and funders. This growth integrates business recovery and restructuring solutions with existing tax, audit, and advisory services.
Outside his professional role, Brocklehurst is a member of the ACCA practice sector panel and a mentor at Birmingham City University. He is also a trustee and chair of the risk committee at the Ikon Gallery.
Brocklehurst said: “I’m delighted to be joining Dains at such an exciting stage of its growth. The firm has a strong reputation for high-quality advisory work, and there is a real opportunity to build a business recovery service in the Midlands that responds quickly, works constructively with stakeholders and delivers outcomes that protect value wherever possible.
“Working alongside the existing team, my focus will be on establishing a national offering that combines technical strength with a collaborative, client-focused approach, helping businesses navigate challenges, restructure where needed, and move forward with confidence.”
Steven Wright, partner and head of business recovery at Dains, added: “This is an important milestone for Dains and a natural next step in the growth of our business recovery service. Lee brings strong technical expertise and leadership experience, and his appointment allows us to extend our reach into the Midlands and beyond.
“Building a national business recovery capability means we can support more businesses, lenders and stakeholders at critical moments, while continuing to deliver the practical, responsible advice that underpins our approach to business recovery.”
