S&W has acquired Haines Watts’ businesses in Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy and Stirling, marking the professional services group’s first move into Scotland and adding 39 staff to its network.

The deal builds on the group’s northern expansion following its purchase of Haines Watts’ Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle operations last year.

S&W launched in March 2025 with backing from Apax Funds and has now completed five acquisitions.

The incoming team is led by partner Graeme Miller, who joins S&W with colleagues providing audit, business outsourcing, tax advisory and compliance services to owner-managed firms and individuals across Scotland.

Andrew Wilkes, chief executive at S&W, said: “Graeme’s team has built a strong reputation in Scotland, and this acquisition gives us a fantastic opportunity to introduce the S&W brand to this important market. The move reflects our continued commitment to growth, with strong backing from Apax Funds.”

Donna Bulmer, executive team member at S&W, added: “I’ve known Graeme for many years and greatly admire the business he has built. I’m thrilled to be working with Graeme and his team again as he leads S&W’s launch into Scotland.”

Miller concluded: “Partnering with S&W marks an exciting new chapter for our team and our clients. With the backing of a fast-growing group and access to an extensive depth of services, we can offer greater strategic support to businesses and private clients with complex needs across Scotland.”
