Scottish professional services firm Vita has reported a 46% increase in turnover for the year to September 2025, marking a period of significant growth across its advisory operations.

The firm, which is one of the largest independent VAT advisers outside Greater London, said revenue reached just under £500,000 for the period. It expects another strong performance this year, forecasting turnover to rise by about £200,000.

Founded six years ago, Vita has expanded its client base among accountancy firms, large corporates, small and medium-sized enterprises and third sector organisations.

In the past year, the firm has also launched a specialist Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) service line, led by partner Craig Stobo.

CBAM, which is due to be introduced in the UK from January 2027, is designed to apply carbon costs to imports to create a level playing field and discourage companies from relocating production to less regulated markets.

During the year, Vita also appointed Aberdeen-based partner Elaine Shepherd, and hired Tony Cochrane as director and Chantal Scheepers as practice manager.

Senior partner Greg McNally, who previously led PwC’s Glasgow VAT team and was a VAT partner at Azets, said: “This has been an excellent year, in which we have not only increased our headcount but have established new service lines and won two small awards as well as being short-listed for two major ones.

“To accommodate growth, we have moved into bigger new office space, created valuable information and networking opportunities and introduced streamlined practice management. Our team has also raised thousands of pounds for charity over the year, including Sepsis Research, which accounts for more than 52,000 deaths annually in the UK.”
