S&W has announced the appointment of Alex Scott-Ruddock as its new payroll director, further strengthening its business outsourcing services team.

Scott-Ruddock joins S&W from MHA, where he was senior payroll manager and a member of the national payroll management team.

He led operations across multiple offices including Edinburgh, Cardiff and London, and brings with him over sixteen years of payroll experience – more than a decade of which has been spent in bureau payroll.

He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) and has contributed to policy think tanks on RTI reporting and national minimum wage developments with the Low Pay Commission.

Scott-Ruddock said: “I’m excited to bring my experience into the S&W business services payroll team and help support both the team and our clients on a new journey to improve what we can offer. Payroll is constantly evolving, and I’m looking forward to helping S&W stay ahead of the curve while delivering excellent service to clients.”

Donna Bulmer, head of business outsourcing services at S&W, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Alex to the team. His appointment reflects our commitment to building out our payroll services capabilities and driving efficiencies through technology to better serve our clients.

“Alex’s experience in managing large and complex payrolls, leading high-performing teams, and contributing to national policy discussions, makes him a valuable addition to our team. His arrival will help broaden our expertise and enhance the support we offer our clients alongside our employment taxes colleagues.”

S&W has more than 2,000 employees and more than 130 partners operating from 15 towns and cities in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
