Accountancy and advisory firm Azets has opened a new regional headquarters on the South Coast as part of wider expansion plans across its service lines.

Staff from three former sites in Chandler’s Ford, Romsey and Winchester have relocated to a single office at Gateway House, Tollgate, Chandler’s Ford, near Southampton.

Office managing partner Mike Tizard said the new base marks a “significant investment” in the region, underlining Azets’ intent to grow in the Solent area. The move comes amid increasing demand for specialist guidance, particularly as businesses face “increasing compliance and cost pressures”.

Azets now employs more than 100 staff in the new Solent office, one of more than 70 UK locations operated by the firm. It services over 80,000 clients.

Its service lines include accounting, audit and assurance, advisory, digital solutions, payroll, tax (corporate, private client, international and VAT), restructuring and insolvency, business services (including corporate finance, HR consultancy, debt advisory and forensic accounting), and wealth management.

Tizard said: “Azets delivers accounting, tax, audit, advisory and business services to a diverse range of companies and high net worth individuals across the Solent region, a key economic hub with a population of more than 1.25 million, 42,000 businesses and the UK gateway to European and global markets.

“With growth in staff headcount and revenues, it made strategic sense to locate colleagues under one roof, with Gateway House the ideal office location because of its proximity to the M27, between the thriving port cities of Southampton and Portsmouth, and the M3 to Winchester, Basingstoke and London. The feedback we’ve had from colleagues about our new workplace has been fantastic – Gateway House has emphatically provided the wow factor and will further enhance collaboration to benefit SMEs and high net worth individuals.”

He added: “It has already been a strong year so far, both regionally and nationally, including Azets being named UK accountancy growth champion at the Industry Excellence Awards held in association with Harvard Business Review and Financial Times and celebrating innovation, transformation and strategic growth.”

Azets occupies 12,000 sq ft on the third floor of Gateway House.
