The grants advisory team at Clive Owen has reported a record first half of 2025, securing more than £25m of grant funding for its clients.
Led by partner Carl Wright and manager Eleanor Kay, the firm supported more than 50 businesses across the UK over the past six months, with awards ranging from £40k to several million pounds.
The organisations assisted include regional small and medium-sized enterprises, some of the world’s largest businesses, and respected research institutions. The funding will support growth, create jobs and accelerate technologies towards market readiness.
Founded in 1983, Clive Owen LLP has grown from a sole trader into a firm with offices in Darlington, Durham, York, Middlesbrough and Newcastle, employing around 150 people. The practice provides multi-disciplinary expertise and maintains a reputation for client-focused service.
The firm’s grants advisory team delivers bid writing, grant audit and due diligence services, and is particularly known for its bid writing success rate of more than 90% across hundreds of applications.
Wright said: “We are absolutely delighted to have started 2025 so successfully. Our team has worked on some very exciting projects, and it is rewarding to help make these happen by securing the grant funding that is essential to enabling organisations to progress with their plans and ideas.
“It has been a challenging time for business over the past twelve months and we have huge admiration for the entrepreneurial spirit and determination of these clients to press forward with their plans despite significant headwinds.”
Kay added: “We are proud to have helped businesses access substantial grant funding over the last six months. The impact these funds will have is significant for not only these organisations, but the wider communities in which they operate due to the vast number of new jobs that will be created.”
