Accountancy firm Buzzacott has advised investment firm Mentmore Capital on its acquisition of contract hire and fleet management provider Rowleys of Northwich.
The deal marks a succession transition at the Cheshire-based company, with founders Richard and Paul Rowley stepping back from day-to-day operations.
Mentmore founders Xan Lowe and Benny Melville will lead the business, with the Rowleys remaining involved during a handover period.
Buzzacott provided financial and tax due diligence, transaction advisory and tax structuring services, as well as a live data dashboard to support ongoing performance monitoring.
Rowleys, headquartered in the northwest, operates a fleet of more than 500 vehicles and serves customers across a range of sectors.
Mentmore Capital focuses on succession planning and long-term continuity for UK businesses. The firm works with owners to provide stability for employees, customers and suppliers.
Buzzacott’s financial due diligence and transaction team included associate director George Thresh, partner Alex Judd and assistant manager Lee D’Arcy.
The tax due diligence was led by senior manager Kazia Kruszewski, partner Alastair McQuater and assistant manager Nicholas Lee.
D’Arcy said: “The Buzzacott team enjoyed being present from start to finish off the deal advising at all stages of the transaction and are excited to see the continued success of the company for years to come. We look forward to continuing to support Mentmore post-transaction through the live dashboard, which will help Xan and Benny understand performance and key trends and make decisions going forward.”
Lowe added: “We’ve appreciated the excellent support George and the team have given us throughout the transaction. We’re very much looking forward to the months and years ahead and are glad to be working closely with Richard as we transition into the business and build on the great legacy he has built over many years, whilst providing stability for employees, customers and wider stakeholders.”
