Saffery has appointed Ami Jack as a partner and head of the firm’s National Tax team.

Jack brings over 20 years’ experience advising on the full spectrum of professional and regulatory matters relating to tax, with a background in corporate tax and financial services.

In her new role, Jack will head up the National Tax team, which has responsibility for building and maintaining the firm’s knowledge base on tax developments, managing risk, supporting new tax opportunities as well as engagement with tax policy making. She will support 25 partners and around 400 staff.

Under the overall leadership of National Tax partner Sean McGinness, Saffery’s National Tax team plays an “essential role in ensuring the continued delivery of high quality client services”, informed by the latest intelligence and insights on tax policy, legislative change and risk planning, ranging from automation and the digitalisation of tax to legislative reforms.

Before joining Saffery, Jack spent seven years at S&W (previously Evelyn Partners/Smith and Williamson) as head of National Tax, while also spending time working at a Big Four firm.

In addition, she has worked with and advised in relation to venture capital, funds and corporate investment vehicles, as well as areas of personal tax such as inheritance and succession.

Sean McGinness, National Tax partner at Saffery, said: “Ami is the perfect person to equip our market-leading team of tax professionals with the most up-to-date insights into the evolving UK tax landscape. She also brings extensive experience in risk management for tax and will be an asset to the firm. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
