Gravita has announced the appointment of former PwC partner Heather Swanston as the chair of its board of directors.
In the last 10 years, she led the refinancing and restructuring practice in PwC UK and sat on the UK PwC Supervisory Board before relocating to Tokyo, where she joined the PwC Japanese Leadership Team as the business scaled rapidly.
Her partner career began with the largest UK Coal-fired power station (Drax Power) and, most recently, with a significant Global Tier 1 automotive supplier.
She has worked with many private equity firms across many sectors, and spent time with two banks including NatWest, where she worked with leveraged finance clients.
Caroline Plumb, Gravita CEO, said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for Gravita. The accounting market is evolving at pace, and to ensure we stay ahead of the curve, we must continue to scale and grow at pace. I do not doubt that the experience Heather will bring to the Board will be enormously valuable for our clients and people, and we look forward to working closely with her.”
Swanston added: “I’m delighted to be joining the Gravita team. The firm’s ambitious growth trajectory, coupled with their focus on client experience and tech-enablement, is something I have been impressed by and look forward to being part of as they continue to grow and succeed.”
Gravita is a “tech-enabled” accountancy firm backed by UK-based private equity firm Tenzing.
