Chartered accountants and tax advisors Haysmacintyre has expanded its team of partners to 40, with the appointment of Andrew Barford.

Barford joined the firm on 2 October, having spent most of his career working with mid-market groups in the Big Four.

The firm said he brings a breadth of experience as an auditor and advisor, having also spent several years in corporate finance advising boards and owners on strategy, sales and acquisitions.

His appointment bolsters Haysmacintyre audit practice at a time of significant growth for the firm and transformation in the UK audit market.

The firm has over 550 partners and staff providing advice to entrepreneurs, fast-growing and owner-managed businesses, and listed and not for profit organisations across the UK and internationally.

Barford said: “I am excited to be joining the award-winning team at Haysmacintyre during a sustained period of double digit growth, recognised most recently through their 2024 Sunday Times and LinkedIn awards for being a great place to work.

“The culture of the firm is something that really attracted me as I believe happy and engaged teams deliver outstanding client service. I am really looking forward to building my relationships with new clients and across the Haysmacintyre team, as we continue this amazing track record.”

Natasha Frangos, managing partner at Haysmacintyre, said: “Andrew brings with him Big 4 mid-market expertise supporting clients to overcome the challenges and respond to the opportunities that businesses face, across private equity, owner-managed and public ownership. His experience will appeal to our ambitious corporate and entrepreneurial client base. We are delighted that Andrew is joining us at such an exciting time of transformational growth, continuing our aspirations as an independent and partner-led firm.”
