Saffery has expanded its corporate tax offering with the appointment of two partners to its London-based team. Zoe Thomas and Jonathan Hornby join the firm, each with over 25 years’ experience providing corporate tax services to UK and international businesses.

Thomas joins from Evelyn Partners and has “extensive” experience in providing domestic and international corporate tax advice, fund structuring and M&A transactions, with a specific focus on the real estate and outsourcing sectors.

She advises on tax matters arising from tax compliance and reporting as well as projects including providing due diligence and tax structuring advice on transactions. She has also advised on significant infrastructure projects, in particular PPP and PFI projects. Her advice includes restructuring and refinancing and reviewing financial models for both the public and private sector.

Meanwhile, Hornby joins the firm from Alvarez and Marsal. He works with multinational organisations across a wide range of industries, including retail, manufacturing, real estate, technology, management consultancy and utilities.

He advises clients on all aspects of corporate taxation, with a focus on international structuring, tax efficient financing, acquisitions and disposals. He also has extensive experience providing tax compliance services, including tax reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS and the preparation of corporate tax returns for groups of all sizes.

Matthew Burton, managing partner of Saffery LLP, said: I’m very pleased to welcome Zoe and Jonathan to Saffery. Both are, quite rightly, highly regarded in their field; their breadth of experience and best-in-class expertise aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing exceptional client service.

“Our corporate clients will benefit from Zoe and Jonathan’s wisdom as they support them through the many challenges associated with growing and expanding into new markets
