PKF Smith Cooper Systems is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary on 14 October 2024.

The company, which started with eight employees in 2014, has grown to become a Sage business partner in the UK, now employing more than 60 people across four offices.

The history of the company dates back to pre-2004 when it was simply the “Sage division” of accounting firm, Smith Cooper (now PKF Smith Cooper).

In 2014, it became a separate legal trading entity (then Smith Cooper System Partners) headed by Chris Smith, managing director, and Richard Brewster, technical director.

Within five years, the business expanded nationally with its first London office and the next in Newcastle.

This was followed by acquiring Uniq Systems which expanded its customer base and staff and saw the company achieve a 50% increase in turnover.

In 2021 the company joined the PKF Group and rebranded from Smith Cooper System Partners to PKF Smith Cooper Systems.

It also acquired the Sage business of three other business partners taking the scale of the business to a new level.

The company will be celebrating in October with activities including a staff celebration at Pride Park Stadium, gifts for all employees, donations to charity selected by 10 customers at random and other surprises for clients and suppliers.
