Interpath managing directors Nick Holloway and Stephen Absolom have been appointed joint administrators of Levantina (UK) Limited.
Headquartered in Basingstoke, the company is the UK distribution subsidiary of Levantina Group, a global market leader in the stone sector, specialising in the extraction, production, and distribution of a variety of stone products, including marble, granite, limestone, and other natural stones.
The business operates from two strategically placed sites in Basingstoke and Rotherham with the footprint ensuring efficient supply across the whole of the UK.
It services a customer base of over 350 B2B customers, including key clients such as stonemasons and kitchen and bath studios, most of whom purchase semi-finished stones in slab format.
Amidst softening in demand across the housing and renovations sector, the business suffered financial challenges which have led to the directors taking steps to appoint administrators.
The company employed 12 people, all of whom have been retained immediately following the appointment. The Levantina Group outside of the UK remains unaffected by this process.
Holloway said: “We are working with the business to continue to trade and keep operations running at the sites in Basingstoke and Rotherham, so it is business as usual for staff and customers. The administration provides a period of protection while we explore options for the future of the business in the UK.”
