Dow Schofield Watts (DSW) has strengthened its Cardiff corporate finance team with the appointment of Ben Nix as senior analyst and will work across Wales and the South West.
Nix joins from Advantage Accountancy and Advisory where he was an associate. His experience includes corporate finance advisory, market research and audit.
He was previously a market underwriter at international insurer Zurich Insurance Plc where he was part of the business development and commercial risk team.
Nix holds a First-Class Honours degree in Economics (BSc) from Swansea University and is currently working towards the ACA chartered accountancy qualification.
DSW launched its corporate finance team in Wales and the South West in October 2023. Since then, the team, which is led by partners Koo Aseeley and Michael Dunn, has completed a number of deals including advising Hazrem Environmental on its acquisition by Biffa.
Nix said: “I was drawn to DSW by its impressive track record and the opportunity to work in corporate finance, supporting clients in their growth and exit strategies. This role aligns perfectly with my career ambitions, and I am excited to work with Koo and Michael, who have clearly built a great reputation for their deal-making expertise.”
Aseeley added: “Ben’s addition to our team reflects DSW’s commitment to expanding our expertise and service offerings in the region. I am confident Ben will thrive in the dynamic environment of corporate finance. His arrival comes at a time when we are gaining significant momentum in Wales and the South West, driven by our straightforward, practical approach to advising growing and entrepreneurial business owners.”
