Oury Clark, a multi-disciplinary professional services firm, has completed the acquisition of American Tax Returns Ltd (ATR), a prominent firm specialising in dual US and UK tax advisory services. Oury Clark said the acquisition “enhances its ability to meet the needs of their clients across legal, accountancy and financial services and strengthens ATR’s position in the market”.

It added that with ATR’s technical expertise complementing the firm’s existing tax capabilities, the combined offering will be better able to meet the needs of clients with more complex international tax situations.

ATR is a firm made up of dual US and UK qualified tax advisers which prepares both US and UK tax returns and provides practical “joined-up” American and British tax advice

The firm is led by David Treitel, one of the best known dually US and UK qualified tax advisers in the UK who serves at committee level with both the ICAEW and the CIOT.

ATR is currently based in Wimbledon and will relocate later this year to Oury Clark’s offices in John Street following the acquisition.

Richard Oury, senior partner at Oury Clark, said: “This is an important strategic acquisition for both Oury Clark and American Tax Returns as it enables us to build our respective service offerings in this key market. We are delighted to welcome the entire ATR team to the Oury Clark Group, congratulate them all on the business they have successfully built and look forward to working together to create even more success.”

David Treitel, founder of ATR, added: “We are excited about continuing to grow as part of the Oury Clark Group and looking forward to the strength that being part of their team will bring to us at American Tax Returns.”
