Ribchesters Chartered Accountants has announced the appointment of Lesley Stabler to the role of partner in its Durham City office, following a “sustained” period of growth.

Stabler joins the firm with more than 20 years of experience in a senior role, and has joined the firm from Azets (Tait Walker prior to its acquisition in April 2022).

Having worked in the North East throughout her career, Stabler has gained her experience working with a wide range of clients, predominantly with owner-managed businesses including those in the property, retail, agriculture and pharmaceutics sectors.

She also brings “significant” audit experience, which will enhance the existing audit team at the firm.

In her new role, Stabler will be responsible for supporting existing clients and assisting with the firm’s ambitious growth plans across the region and beyond, as well as nurturing and developing Ribchesters’ talent by mentoring new and existing staff.

Rob Ribchester, partner at Ribchesters, said: “We are delighted that Lesley has joined us at what is a very exciting time for the firm. She has developed an exceptional reputation in the North East and beyond and will play an important role in assisting with our growth plans and development in terms of our service offerings, our clients and our people.”

Stabler added: “I joined Ribchesters as the firm’s portfolio reflects the clients I have worked with during the majority of my career, therefore this will allow me to continue to strive to offer the best service and cherish relationships with clients and colleagues alike in a familiar environment.

“I recognised that the team at Ribchesters is a dynamic and ambitious group and therefore since learning and development is key to everything the firm does, I will strive to continue to drive change by investment into staff training and development.”
