Champion Accountants has strengthened its Hesketh Bank practice with the appointment of Lucy Panchal as partner.

Panchal has more than two decades of experience, with a track record as an expert advisor to SMEs and entrepreneurs.

The firm said its clients will benefit from her proactive tax planning, budgeting, funding, and cash flow expertise, coupled with her experience in management accounts, financial performance and delivering critical support to businesses in distress.

Panchal began her career in Kent, where, over time, she accrued a selection of northern clients and was selected to establish a Manchester division for a South East based accountant. Her role at Champion will see her continue to grow the team and streamline operations by implementing new processes and workflows.

She said: “I’ve been aware of Champion Accountants for quite some time. For several years, the business carried out audits for numerous clients of mine and I’ve always held the team in high regard. It was an easy decision when the opportunity arose for me to join them.

“I’m thrilled to be here. As an SME specialist, my skillset aligns with the business perfectly. Champion delivers incredible work for countless organisations and individuals, including numerous charities, which is an area that I’m keen to develop my skills. I’ll work alongside the best in the business at third sector financial advice and management – there is no better place to be.”

Peter Buck, partner at Champion Accountants’ Preston practice, added: “Lucy brings an excellent pedigree and a real tenacity for delivering a first-class service that marries perfectly with our ambitions for growth. Her appointment marks another exciting chapter for us, and we’re delighted to have her on board.”
