PwC has added to its deals practice experience with the appointment of Alastair Camichael as senior adviser in its real estate debt and capital advisory team.
Camichael joins PwC from real estate firm HB Titan where he was a real estate investor. Previously, he led the debt and capital advisory team at commercial real estate firm Avison Young. He brings over 15 years real estate debt experience.
At PwC, he will support the firm’s debt and capital advisory practice and further strengthen its capacity and capability in the real estate debt market due to client demand.
Regarding his appointment Carmichael said: “Given the current market dynamics, funding gaps are more apparent in real estate deals, however there is also significant appetite from new lenders who can support high quality sponsors and assets. PwC has an impressive multi-disciplinary team that is focussed on servicing the real estate industry and can combine skill sets to identify and execute creative solutions.
“I look forward to working with the debt and capital advisory team to further help support existing and new clients to meet their funding objectives.”
Richard Siddall, leader of PwC’s debt and capital advisory UK, said: “We are really pleased that Alastair can bring his vast experience and network to further grow our real estate debt advisory business.
“We are seeing a significant increase in demand for funding solutions in a challenging debt environment – and Alastair will help us to support our clients needs as well as meet our ambitious growth plans.”
