Interpath Advisory has appointed three new managing directors, with two internal promotions and one new hire, as it continues to invest in its senior team.

Louise Smith joins the firm as a managing director in its Transaction Services team. She previously worked at EY, where she co-led the firm’s Transaction Services business in Yorkshire and the North East.

In her new role, she will be based out of Interpath’s Leeds office, and will work alongside corporate finance managing director Heath Snyder in scaling the firm’s Deal Advisory capabilities across the North.

Elsewhere, Stuart Reid (Value Creation) and Matthew Townsend (Transaction Services) have been promoted to managing director.

Reid specialises in commercial optimisation and leads the firm’s ‘End to End Economic Profit’ proposition. In recent years, he has delivered several of Interpath’s largest advisory projects in the consumer sector, working with some of the biggest retailers and food and drinks businesses in the world. He also leads the firm’s ESG commercial impact proposition, which identifies and maps ESG interventions to margin improvement.

Townsend has over 15 years’ experience in delivering financial due diligence service to his primarily Private Equity client base. He joined Interpath in May 2022 to work alongside fellow managing directors Russell Worrall, Graham Lawes and Steven Bunn, helping to grow and scale Interpath’s Transaction Services business.

The firm has also announced the appointment of five new directors, comprising four promotions and one new hire.

Peter Crompton and Lorna Ford have been promoted to director in Interpath’s Restructuring team, while Joyce Thomson was promoted within the firm’s Corporate Simplification team, and Paolo Synesiou was promoted within Interpath’s Value Creation team.

In addition, the firm has welcomed Arpit Desai as a director in Interpath’s M&A Tax team. He joins Interpath from KPMG, where he worked in the firm’s M&A Large Corporates tax team.

A further 23 colleagues have also been promoted across the business, from associate through to associate director.

Blair Nimmo, CEO of Interpath Advisory, said: “We are delighted to welcome Louise, Matthew and Stuart to our cohort of managing directors. Louise and Matthew’s appointments add further weight to our impressive Transaction Services business which has grown since inception to become a significant challenger to the Big 4. In addition, Stuart’s promotion is deserved recognition for his role in leading some of our biggest advisory mandates in the retail and consumer goods sector, where he has delivered significant value creation projects for a number of global household names.

“We’re also delighted to celebrate our five new directors, as well as all those who have been promoted at this mid-point in our year. Whether in our core restructuring and turnaround business or in our ever-growing advisory service lines, our people continue to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to providing the very best service to our clients.”
