PwC has today (2 October) appointed Rob Perrins as an independent non-executive.

Perrins joins chair Philip Rycroft CB, Suzanne Baxter and Victoria Raffé on PwC’s Public Interest Body (PIB).

He is currently chief executive of Berkeley Group having qualified as a chartered accountant in 1991. He brings a wealth of relevant experience and his long-standing boardroom career will add to the strength and depth of the PIB. He has shown leadership in a number of areas that are relevant to PwC such as sustainability, climate and social value.

Perrins has been chair of trustees of the Berkeley Foundation since its launch in 2011 – an independent charity that works in partnership with the voluntary sector to tackle inequality and support young people and their communities.

Kevin Ellis, senior partner of PwC UK, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Rob Perrins to our Public Interest Body. He brings a vast wealth of knowledge and valuable experience to this important governance role. Rob, along with all our INEs, will play a critical role in governance in the firm. Key to the role is providing appropriate challenges to PwC as we navigate complex business environments.”

Perrins said: “Given the importance of PwC to the UK economy it is vital that the firm continues to take a proactive role in helping to build trust and confidence in the sector and capital markets more widely. I look forward to ensuring that the PIB delivers on its public interest responsibilities and provides effective governance and accountability.”
