Armstrong Watson’s Leeds team has reported a 24% rise in total revenue growth from 2022 to 2023 with its audit and accounting teams generating a 44% rise in revenues. This is up from a 20% rise in year-on-year growth from 2021 to 2022.
The team also recently appointed new audit and assurance director Huw Nicholls and restructuring and insolvency director Ed Connell.
According to Armstrong Watson, with 118 colleagues now based at the South Parade Office, including 11 partners and directors and 28 apprentices, the team is going through a “period of sustained growth” which follows the acquisitions of long-standing Leeds Practice Grants Chartered Accountants and Volans, Leach and Schofield in the past two years.
The firm said that it will continue to invest in staff and train up the next generation of accountants and tax advisers through its apprenticeship programme, which was recognised by the Department for Education for the second year running among the UK’s Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers.
Meanwhile for the first time this summer the Leeds office has also taken on young people for internships.
Matt Osbourne, the lead partner at Armstrong Watson’s Leeds office, said: “I am incredibly proud of what the Leeds team continues to achieve through organic growth, successfully combined with experienced hires, and our commitment to training through our graduate and apprenticeship recruitment programmes.
“Why I believe we continue to do well is that we don’t just ensure that statutory requirements are met but offer the preparation and advice clients need to embrace their next big business event, be that expansion, investment, refinancing, or a sale transaction.”
He added: “The secret is our understanding of our market of private, owner-managed and family businesses, and offering the expertise and experience of larger firms, whilst retaining a personal, collaborative and responsive approach to ensure that we can meet the needs of our clients and fulfil our quest as their business advisers, to help achieve prosperity, secure our clients’ future and provide peace of mind.”
