EY announces new appointments to strategy and transactions team

The new partner appointments in strategy and transactions include 23 internal promotions and 23 external hires

EY has announced Silvia Rindone as its new UK&I managing partner for strategy and transactions, along with 46 new partner appointments to the business unit.

Rindone was previously EY’s UK&I strategy and transactions markets leader and UK&I head of retail. She joined EY in 2019 and has worked with leading consumer product and retail companies in the UK, Europe and across the globe over the past 20 years.

She will continue serving clients in the consumer products and retail sector in addition to her new role. She succeeds Steve Ivermee who led the service line for seven years. He will continue his role as a partner within EY’s private equity practice.

In her new role, Rindone will lead EY’s multi-disciplinary strategy and transactions practice which advises corporate and private equity clients on all aspects of transaction advisory, including, transaction diligence, corporate finance, valuations, business modelling and economics.

It also includes EY-Parthenon, its global strategy consultancy, which brings together deep sector knowledge and experience of executing corporate, transaction and turnaround strategies to help clients design and deliver long-term value.

The new partner appointments in strategy and transactions include 23 internal promotions and 23 external hires. They form part of the 267 new UK partner appointments announced earlier this month as EY responds to growing client demand.

Regarding her appointment, Rindone said: “I’m honoured to be leading our talented strategy and transactions team and am looking forward to leading the business through the next stage of evolution and growth.

“Our new partner appointments reflect a significant investment in our people as we meet growing client demand for advice around strategy services, turnaround and restructuring, M&A and private equity.”

Hywel Ball, EY’s UK chair, said: “I’m delighted that Silvia will be taking on the role of managing partner for strategy and transactions. She has been instrumental in raising EY’s brand in the consumer products and retail sector as well as driving our client and markets agenda across the strategy and transactions business.

“I’d also like to thank Steve Ivermee for his leadership over the last seven years. Under his guidance, the business has achieved fantastic results, including achieving double-digit growth for the last two years – he leaves a fantastic legacy.”
