Stoke-on-Trent headquartered accountancy group, DJH Mitten Clarke, has appointed Matthew Mellor as its new chief financial officer to support its offices across the West-Midlands, North West and Yorkshire.
Mellor joins DJH Mitten Clarke at a time of high growth, having the company recently completed three mergers and three other acquisitions since 2021, including Manchester’s Lloyd Piggott, Baker’s in Walsall and Novis and Co in Leeds.
Alongside leading the group’s finance team, Mellor will be responsible for developing and growing the team to build to support future acquisitions, and will be responsible for managing the firm’s relationship with Tenzing, a private equity investor and other third party funders.
Scott Heath, chief executive officer, who leads the 275-plus DJH Mitten Clarke team, said: “We have seen tremendous growth in the last 12 months, and intend to continue to strive ambitiously for the rest of 2023. We therefore needed to increase our senior team, to ensure our offices across the Group align through a data-driven approach to make those crucial decisions.
“Our people are our biggest asset, and investing in them is key to success. I know Matt not only has the experience, but skills and qualities to help the group endure to thrive.”
Regarding his appointment, Mellor said: “I cannot wait to get stuck into the role and meet the wider team in the group’s supporting offices. It was essential to me to join a team whereby they not only provide exceptional service to clients, but put their team first, guaranteeing support and progression as a priority.”
