Two Swindon firms, PPS Chartered Accountants and Roger C Bloomer Chartered Accountants, have successfully merged practices yesterday (1 May).

The two firms have merged to create a “leading” regional provider of accountancy and advisory services to the private business sector and tax services for individuals.

According to the two businesses, the transition went smoothly and seamlessly, allowing clients to continue receiving “the very best service with as little disruption as possible”.

PPS has gained a reputation with successful owner-managed businesses, spanning over 30 years since its inception in 1992. It is currently led by Paul Papworth-Smith, Ian Willoughby and Sally Holland.

Meanwhile, firm Roger C Bloomer has been running for over 40 years, as well as joined the Society of Professional Accountants and the 2020 Consulting Group as a member.

The owner of the firm, Roger Bloomer, was admitted as an associate member of the ICAEW in 1981, and was made a fellow of the institute in 1992.

Paul Papworth-Smith, co-founder of PPS, said: “It is an absolute honour to commence work with Roger C Bloomer Chartered Accountants; Roger and his team will complement the level of expertise that we have at PPS.”

Bloomer said: “The decision was a surprisingly easy one and I am delighted to be joining PPS Chartered Accountants, as not only do they have a similar philosophy to that of my firm, but this will also enable us to continue to give great support to our clients.”
