Quantuma has completed the sale of intellectual property and goodwill for Skinnybrands. The Manchester-based brewery and cidery entered liquidation on 8 April 2026.

Managing directors Jeremy Woodside and Tracey Pye oversaw the transaction following their appointment as joint liquidators.

The company employed three staff members, all of whom have been made redundant.

Quantuma engaged with various interested parties, including brewers and investment consortia, before accepting an offer. The liquidators stated the deal provided the best outcome for creditors.

Established in 2015, Skinnybrands specialised in lower calorie lagers and ciders for major supermarkets. The company reported a turnover of £1.7m in 2025.

Woodside said: “We were quickly able to run a sales process and thereafter complete a sale in a relatively short timescale, and I am very pleased that the Quantuma team was well placed to make this happen.

“I am delighted to complete the sale – in addition to maximising realisations, the successful bid ensured the continuation of the brand in the market and provides an opportunity for certain former employees to support the brand with the purchaser going forward. It was important to act quickly to preserve as much value in the brand as possible and to minimise the risk of the product being delisted by major supermarket retailers.”
