LAVA Advisory Partners has appointed Matt Morris as head of finance to lead financial operations and data-driven decision-making as the London-based M&A firm expands.
Morris joins the firm on a permanent basis following a two-year tenure as LAVA’s fractional head of finance and a previous role at professional services firm Richard Place Dobson (RPD).
In his new role, he is responsible for the firm’s financial oversight, statutory reporting, and supporting the leadership team with operational data as the business scales its advisory capabilities.
According to LAVA, the transition from a fractional to a full-time head of finance follows a period of increased deal activity for the London-based consultancy.
Morris previously managed the firm’s statutory accounts during his time at RPD, establishing a long-term working relationship prior to this formal appointment.
His appointment coincides with a broader expansion of the firm’s team and capabilities in the mid-market advisory sector.
Simon Woodcock, partner at LAVA, said: “Matt joins us full-time at a moment for LAVA as we underpin our operational foundations with data-driven processes and oversight. His focus on the financial running of the firm allows the partners to focus on driving our next phase of growth, with the knowledge that we are working with data.”
Morris added: “LAVA’s approach involves the team making a difference. It is a supportive environment where people challenge each other. There is energy around doing things differently, building relationships, and thinking about deals. It is a high-growth company and I am looking forward to being part of that journey.”
