Hazlewoods has advised local motor group, Baylis Limited on its acquisition of Southern Limited.

Baylis specialises in the business of new and used Vauxhall vehicles at their dealerships across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

As one of the largest independently managed Vauxhall groups in the UK, Hazelwoods said Baylis are building on their distribution locations and branching out into Wales, through the acquisition of Southern Vauxhall based in Merthyr Tydfil.

Customers will now have access to a “much wider” choice of used cars available from stock, as well as a “greater” range of facilities, including accident repairs and an increased variety of parts and accessories.

Rich Grover, corporate finance associate director at Hazlewoods, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be able to support Baylis with their expansion plans. The acquisition of Southern Vauxhall strengthens the group’s position and extends geographical reach into the sizable South Wales market.”

Dave Jones, director at Baylis, added: “We believe that the business in Merthyr will be a great fit with the existing Baylis group, bringing an experienced team who always excel with customer service.”
